# It writes. You decide.

AutoBlogging Pro drafts articles with the AI provider of your choice and saves them **as drafts**. Nothing goes public until a person has read it. That is what separates a useful tool from a demoted site.

## What is AutoBlogging Pro?

A free WordPress plugin, licensed GPL v2, that drafts structured articles with the AI provider of your choice and saves them as drafts for a human to review. It adds spend ceilings, a review queue and an AI disclosure line. No account and no licence key.

This plugin can **hurt your search rankings** if you use it badly. Search engines do not penalise AI writing as such — they penalise **unreviewed, unhelpful content published at scale** to game rankings.

The difference is entirely in what you do between generation and publication. [Read the risks page](/en/risks/) before you generate anything.

## What it does

### Multi-provider drafting

DeepSeek, Claude, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (OpenRouter, Groq, a local model). You pick the model and pay your provider directly — we are not a middleman.

### Draft by default

Every article is saved as a draft. A review queue flags short articles, unverified statistics, invented prices, model boilerplate and missing images.

### Spend ceilings

Per day, per month, and an estimated spend cap. Checked *before* any paid call. Version 2 had no cap at all — “every 5 minutes” simply drained the balance.

### Real or generated images

Pexels (real photographs, free) or Stability AI (generated illustrations). As the featured image *and* inside the article — one picture at the top and nothing after it is what makes a wall of text.

### Real Gutenberg blocks

Headings, lists, comparison tables, callouts, pull quotes, FAQ accordions. The article is editable in the block editor, not frozen in a Classic block.

### Topic clusters

One seed becomes a de-duplicated topic list. Categories, tags, slug, excerpt and internal links are all set automatically.

### SEO that actually ships

Meta description and JSON-LD are genuinely emitted, with FAQPage schema. Rank Math, Yoast, SEOPress, AIOSEO and Slim SEO are detected — no duplicate tags.

### WP-CLI, REST, MCP

`wp autoblog generate`, `/wp-json/autoblogging-pro/v1/`, and five abilities registered through the WordPress 6.9 Abilities API — usable as MCP tools.

## How it is actually used

1. Pick a niche you understandThe plugin does not choose your niche and knows nothing about your market. That is the most important work and it is entirely human. A niche you cannot fact-check is a niche you cannot run.
2. Generate the cluster, then read itOne seed gives 50–100 topics. Read them: this is the plan for the whole site, and it is far cheaper to fix here than after 100 articles exist.
3. Generate one article. Just one.If it is not good enough to publish under your own name, no schedule will fix that. Change the prompt, the model, or the topics.
4. Review, verify, fix, publishEvery number, date, price and name gets checked against a source. That is the real work, and it is the part that does not automate.

## What it costs

The plugin is free. You pay your AI provider, your hosting and your domain. Rough order of magnitude for a ~1,500-word article:

| Provider | Per article (est.) | 30 articles |
|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek Chat | ~$0.002–0.01 | under $0.30 |
| Claude Haiku 4.5 | ~$0.01–0.03 | ~$0.60 |
| Claude Sonnet 4.5 | ~$0.05–0.12 | ~$2.50 |
| Stability Core image | ~$0.03 each | ~$0.90 |

These are **estimates** from an internal price table whose only job is to drive the spend ceiling. They are not a bill — check your provider dashboard for real figures. [Full cost of running 10 sites →](/en/10-sites/)

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it really free? What is the catch?

The plugin is free and GPL v2. There is no account, no licence key and no site limit. You pay only your AI provider, directly, because they are the ones providing the service.

### Will Google penalise my site?

Not for using AI. The rule that matters is *scaled content abuse*: mass-producing unhelpful content to game rankings. Publishing 500 unread articles lands squarely there. Publishing 20 reviewed and corrected articles does not. [Detail here](/en/risks/).

### How many articles should I publish?

**Thirty per site per month — one a day — is the serious minimum.** Below that a new site has no depth and no subject, and you do not get enough data to know within 90 days whether the niche works. The plugin's ceiling is configurable and defaults to 5 a day. The real limit is not the plugin, it is your reviewing capacity — the full arithmetic is on [the portfolio page](/en/10-sites/).

### Does adding a blog really increase traffic?

The mechanism is simple: a site with no blog has five or ten pages, so it can answer five or ten questions. Every article adds another door. What rises is the number of questions you can answer, and traffic follows. This site's publisher reports a traffic rise on their own sites after adding a blog. We have not measured it for you — measure your own in Search Console.

### Does it work with Rank Math or Yoast?

Yes. It detects them, writes the meta description into *their* fields, and emits no duplicate tags. With no SEO plugin installed it emits its own tags and Article schema.

### Do I need WordPress 6.9 for MCP?

For the Abilities/MCP layer, yes. Everything else — generation, review queue, WP-CLI, REST — works from WordPress 5.8. On an older version the MCP layer simply does not register.

### Can I use it on client sites?

Yes, GPL v2 allows it. Tell them the articles are AI-assisted — the plugin appends a configurable disclosure line to every article.
